Jonathan Severance

Jonathan is a retired professional who has turned his focus to storytelling, drawing on a long career in writing and communication that spans technical writing, market research, course development, and certification exam design.

At EMC Corporation and Dell Technologies, he facilitated subject matter experts, exercised final editorial control, and authorized the global release of more than 100 high-stakes certification exams. He also edited over 500 unique assessments, bringing clarity and precision to complex technical material.

Earlier in his career, Jonathan developed and delivered training programs for global companies including Digital Equipment, Compaq Computer, and Hewlett-Packard.

His first major professional role was in technical writing. During that time, he received an STC International Award for Excellence (Books category) for Meeting the Challenge of Boundary Scan, a technical book he authored for GenRad.

Throughout his career, Jonathan quietly pursued short-form writing in a more personal and reflective voice, often with an inspirational tone.

He holds an undergraduate degree in philosophy and a graduate degree in business. He lives in central Massachusetts with his wife.
